2 Year Blog Birthday & a Dehydrator Give Away!

It’s my blog’s 2nd birthday so it’s time to celebrate with a give away!

2yrbday

Can you believe that my Sugar-Free Mom blog has been around for 2 years already?? Yes, exactly 2 years ago today on October 21, 2011 I launched my website! Blessed beyond measure by the growth and support we’ve received from all of you! To show my appreciation I’m giving away a favorite kitchen gadget that I love!!!

Who wants a new dehydrator??? Dehydrators are perfect for making healthy dried fruit snacks for the family. The hubby also likes to make jerky with it as well. Whatever you decide to dehydrate you will not be disappointed!

Here’s mine in action making apple chips!!

dehydrator1

We’ve dried pears and apples but you can really dry whatever you like. It comes with a great book to tell you all about how to use it.

My kids can’t get enough of these so it’s a good thing this dehydrator has about 6 or 7 shelves to hold a whole lot of apple slices!

Don’t be alarmed that it says beef jerky on the box. My hubby bought two brand new and kept one in the box unused specifically for my blog’s birthday to give away to one of you!

Congrats to #410 Amanda!!

  1. id really like to dry my own herbs! I hate wasting all my cut offs in the garden.
Also fruits and veggies, having a toddler who snacks all day, this would be perfect! Been wanting to get one for ages, although i live in Australia iw ould pay for postage 🙂

  2. I would LOVEEEEE to win this.
There are so many things that I would love to try.
    -Dried Mangoes
    -Culture yogurt
    -Salmon Jerky
    -Sweet Potatoes
    -Kale
    -Tomatoes
    -Carrots
    -Green Beans
I’m a fitness competitor so this would be a fun way to make my plain food more exciting!!!

  3. I have been wanting a food dehydrator for a long time. I would love to dehydrate apples! So glad I found your blog today. Several of your muffins and oatmeal recipes are on my grocery list for next week.

  4. Hi! I want to get my family off fruit snacks by making my own! Fruit roll-ups, dried mangoes, dried apples, dried strawberries…I’ve even heard that dried watermelon tastes great. I would love to experiment with a dehydrator. My family also eats a lot of sun-dried tomatoes, so I’d try those. Maybe kale chips? The options are endless 🙂

  5. I would make sweet potato chips, dried mango bits and I’d love to try to make my own turkey jerky. I’m allergic to anything in the allium family (onion, garlic, leeks, chives, shallots, etc.), so I haven’t had jerky in a LONG time. Making my own would be the only way to have it again. Congrats on your blog’s 2nd birthday! I’m relatively new, but I’ve already added your pumpkin quinoa, overnight chia oats and chocolate chia pudding to my regular recipes. Since I’m new to using liquid stevia and being (so far only mostly) sugar free, I’m really happy to have found your blog via a google search for pumpkin quinoa. 🙂 Thanks for all your hard work!

  6. I am trying to lose weight and watch what I eat. I have been wanting to get one of these for a while. I would love to dehydrate fruit to put on top of yogurt and add it to granola for a healthy snack. I am also in love with beef jerky, but with how expensive it is, I can’t eat it as much as I like. I am hoping to save money with making it myself! I am also going to try to make your ‘HEALTHIER WHOLE WHEAT APPLE PIE: NO SUGAR ADDED’ tonight. If it comes out well, I will be sharing it with my family this Thanksgiving 🙂

  7. I would LOVE this! I would do all kinds of fruit- strawberries, cranberries, apples, pears…yes yes yes and yes! There are just so many healthy things I could do!

  8. My husband and I both have to watch what we eat. We are older and health matters. This would be great for fruits and meats. I’d love to win this.

  9. I would use this dehydrator to dry many different types of fruit including bananas, apples, mango, pears and pineapple! I would love it! 🙂 Thank you for offering this give away!

  10. First, congrats on your anniversary! I love your site and love to cook/bake and you help me do it without all the sugar. If I had a food dehydrator I would make sweet potatoes, bananas, green beans, pineapple, mango and definitely some beef jerky too! I love getting my children to try new foods especially if it’s good for you! My kids also cannot bring any foods with nuts to school and this would make for quick, healthy snacks that are nut free!

  11. I recently was referred to your site for recipe ideas for my son (one of three kids). We are having several stomach and digestion issues. I prefer not to pump him full of drugs so I am trying a more holistic approach. There is so much information out there and it is extremely overwhelming (and somewhat expensive) I would love to win this to dry fruit snacks for my kids.

  12. Tha!nks so much for posting this awesome contest! I love getting your daly emails! I am a grandmother with 4 grandsons and I would use this dehydrator to invent all sorts of fun, yet healthy, snacks. I love to bring them a treat whenever I visit, so this would save money and encourage them to enjoy healthy snacks. (And me, too!) Thanks for your wonderful blog! It certainly gives me fodder for Pinterest!

  13. It’s my 33rd birthday on your 2nd birthday! I would love this a special gift. I will use it to teach other people how to eat healthier.

    Thanks,
    Tanisha

  14. I love banana chips and it would be great to make these at home rather than the unhealthy fried kind you usually get at the store! And those apple chips you made look delicious, I’d love to give those a try too!
