2 Year Blog Birthday & a Dehydrator Give Away!

It’s my blog’s 2nd birthday so it’s time to celebrate with a give away!

2yrbday

Can you believe that my Sugar-Free Mom blog has been around for 2 years already?? Yes, exactly 2 years ago today on October 21, 2011 I launched my website! Blessed beyond measure by the growth and support we’ve received from all of you! To show my appreciation I’m giving away a favorite kitchen gadget that I love!!!

Who wants a new dehydrator??? Dehydrators are perfect for making healthy dried fruit snacks for the family. The hubby also likes to make jerky with it as well. Whatever you decide to dehydrate you will not be disappointed!

Here’s mine in action making apple chips!!

dehydrator1

We’ve dried pears and apples but you can really dry whatever you like. It comes with a great book to tell you all about how to use it.

My kids can’t get enough of these so it’s a good thing this dehydrator has about 6 or 7 shelves to hold a whole lot of apple slices!

Don’t be alarmed that it says beef jerky on the box. My hubby bought two brand new and kept one in the box unused specifically for my blog’s birthday to give away to one of you!

  1. I am having the hardest time finding garlic and onion powder where everything is grown AND packaged in tge us do I want to start making my own seasonings and spices!

  3. OMG this is exactly what I’m asking for, for Christmas!!! I JUST got finished telling my hubby that I wanted one this year! I have been doing a lot of reading and research on feeding my family better. we are attempting to cut out as much pre packaged goods as possible. I also want to get into canning! This is such a need in my house to cut down on sugary snacks and would help me to make all kinds of Yummy treats for my daughter’s school lunch!! I try to feed low sugar and organic, especially since she was diagnosed with ADHD. cutting suvats definitely makes a difference in her behaviour. this would be the perfect solution to help feed her better snacks at school! (our school is NOT healthy and offers the children popsicles packed with high fructose corn syrup, candy, marshmallows, and other icky stuff!!) thank you so much for the opportunity! keep those posts on Facebook coming, we love them!!

  4. I would make dried fruit – which would sometimes reduce waste in my house by dehydrating fruits before they went bad when I have too much of something.

  5. I would totally use this to make dried fruit and possibly some low sodium jerky for my son. He is on dialysis and has a very restrictive diet. We struggle to find appropriate snacks for him!

  12. I would do soo much in it! Kale chips, sweet potato chips, fruit, you name it! My kids love beef jerky but it is full of chemicals and other unhealthy preservatives…so I don’t let them eat it anymore. I would attempt making a healthy turkey jerky.

  13. I will make lots of fruit leather for the kiddos in it. I attempted my first batch of fruit leather last week but I did it in the oven. It took forever to get it done! I would love a dehydrater.

  14. This will be perfect to make healthy crunchy fruit snacks to replace goldfish for my toddler and my husband and I. So cool:). Thank you for all your posts!

  15. Although I am and have been highly blessed, I have not had a dehydrator for years. My sons and I love deer jerky, dried banana chips and apples. We would love to try new recipes as well. Pick us please!!!

  16. Sooooo many options! Most dried fruit at the store has TONS of added sugar… would LOVE to do dried fruit, fruit leather, jerky…. It would create such great snack options for on the road, on the trail, or just snug at home.
