2 Year Blog Birthday & a Dehydrator Give Away!

It’s my blog’s 2nd birthday so it’s time to celebrate with a give away!

2yrbday

Can you believe that my Sugar-Free Mom blog has been around for 2 years already?? Yes, exactly 2 years ago today on October 21, 2011 I launched my website! Blessed beyond measure by the growth and support we’ve received from all of you! To show my appreciation I’m giving away a favorite kitchen gadget that I love!!!

Who wants a new dehydrator??? Dehydrators are perfect for making healthy dried fruit snacks for the family. The hubby also likes to make jerky with it as well. Whatever you decide to dehydrate you will not be disappointed!

Here’s mine in action making apple chips!!

dehydrator1

We’ve dried pears and apples but you can really dry whatever you like. It comes with a great book to tell you all about how to use it.

My kids can’t get enough of these so it’s a good thing this dehydrator has about 6 or 7 shelves to hold a whole lot of apple slices!

Don’t be alarmed that it says beef jerky on the box. My hubby bought two brand new and kept one in the box unused specifically for my blog’s birthday to give away to one of you!

I think a dehydrator would do the trick to get kids to eat more fruits and veggies, those apples would be my first use thou, so yummy. Keep up the great work 🙂

  4. When I was little, my great grandmother dried apple slices between 2 old screen doors. We used to try and slip our fingers between the screens and sample them when she wasn’t looking. Later, we made mini fried pies and she made the best apple pies around. I have never had a dehydrator and I think the very first thing I would do would be apples, but after, the sky’s the limit! I can’t wait to put away fruit for the winter

  10. Congratulations! I look forward to your posts every day and I’m so glad you decided to share them with us. I just started an herb garden this summer and started using herbs in everyday meals to spice things up a bit. I’d like to take it a step further and attempt to dry some herbs to use in the winter. Also want to dry tomatoes and summer squash to use in some soups during the winter. Thanks for all your great ideas!

  12. First of all, happy 2 yrs!
I would really love to make dried apples, bananas, everything! Over the last few years I’ve lost a lot of weight and have become aware of how important REAL food is. Along the way my four boys have learned anything I could teach them about eating correctly and staying healthy. A dehydrator would be an awesome family project.
