Basil Yogurt Sandwich Spread

Basil Yogurt Sandwich Spread is light and healthy as well as an easy recipe to replace using mayonnaise on sandwiches.

When you want a hearty sandwich you most always think about spreading some mayonnaise or mustard on there right? But if you are watching your weight the mayo can be too hefty of a price calorie wise so you may forgo it and have to deal with a dry sandwich! Not anymore friends!

This delicious spread is so tasty you won’t miss the mayo and so low in calories you can enjoy way more than even two tablespoons if you like!

My hubby absolutely loved this spread the first time I made it and now regularly asks for it instead of using mayonnaise. Even my picky kids like it! I like it’s only 35 calorie per serving!

  1. Can I use dried basil as a substitute for the fresh chopped basil? If so, how much would I use?
    Thanks!

    1. If recipe calls for 1/2 Cup fresh, wouldn’t I use 1/4 Cup dried?? Or is recipient supposed to use 1/2 tsp fresh?
      Thanks again!

  3. This looks really good, Brenda. I have always loved mayonnaise (especially on a good garden tomato sandwich!) but find I like the store-bought less and less. Have been making homemade which is delicious, but this looks like a nice option, especially since I have a ton of basil on hand right now. How long do you keep this successfully in your fridge? Or is it gone too fast to worry?! 🙂

    1. Thanks Lisa! I had it for about 3 days in the fridge without issues. Maybe it could go longer though.
