This easy low carb keto sugar free coffee creamer recipe is quick to make with 6 different flavor options! Less than a half gram total carbs per serving!
Sugar Free Coffee Creamer
Making a delicious keto-friendly creamer for your morning coffee is actually not as hard as you think.
There are plenty of sugar free coffee creamers on the market but they all contain artificial sweeteners. They really aren't many keto friendly coffee creamers on the market.
I've been on a keto diet since 2015 and usually just use heavy whipping cream in my black coffee. But I felt that a keto-friendly coffee creamer that had a creamy texture without crappy ingredients needed to be made.
This easy recipe can also be made a dairy free low carb coffee creamer which is helpful when you may want to forgo dairy products for a time on your low-carb diet or ketogenic diet.
Carbs in Store-Bought Coffee Creamers
Traditional coffee creamer, like Coffee Mate, have added sugar and artificial flavors, artificial ingredients.
Not something you want to include if you are working on weight loss this year and definitely will spike your blood sugar which causes cravings in most people.
2 tablespoons of Nestle Coffeemate original according to Cronometer, has 18.5 grams of carbs and 154 calories.
Sugar Free Store-Bought Creamers
I used to be the person back when I first went sugar free, who had a "little coffee" with her sugar free creamer. I would make my hubby buy 2-3 creamers a week at our local grocery stores because I used so much!
Seriously, I was addicted to that stuff! As years have gone by I learned more and more about health and ingredients and how to balance my blood sugar, I removed these sugar free creamers from my life.
With these changes I also changed my taste buds to not need a very sweet hot coffee first thing in the morning.
For a short time I did try just had my coffee black but then added heavy cream.
Ingredients in Zero Sugar French Vanilla Flavor Liquid Coffee Creamer that I consider unhealthy are vegetable oil (soybean and canola) which are highly inflammatory, corn syrup, maltodextrin which both spike blood sugar, as well as Sucralose which also can spike blood glucose and cause cravings.
Not a great option if you are struggling with sugar cravings and trying to not give in to temptations.
Carbs in Homemade Keto Coffee Creamer
Our keto creamer recipe has almost zero carbs with just point .1 grams! There are 5 grams of fat in one serving and just 51 calories.
It is a great way to start your day without having a blood sugar spike from your morning cup of coffee.
This liquid creamer is fantastic for a creamy coffee or even in hot tea on your low carb diet.
The recipe card is at the bottom of this blog post with all nutritional information and print option.
Simple Ingredients for the Best Keto Coffee Creamer
To make my Sugar Free Sweetened Condensed milk you just need heavy cream, butter, and powdered Allulose. After you make that, your ingredient list is quite short for this keto friendly coffee creamer!
Just some unsweetened almond milk, heavy cream and flavor extracts and liquid sweeteners if desired.
To make this with additional healthy fats, you can also add 1 tablespoon of MCT oil and/or coconut oil, which are both healthy medium-chain triglycerides and you can also use grass-fed butter or grass-fed ghee, if you prefer.
Options for Different Flavors
There are so many flavor options using the base recipe for this keto homemade creamer recipe.
Here are our favorite flavors using flavor extracts and keto sweeteners;
French Vanilla Coffee Creamer- Whisk in 1 teaspoon vanilla liquid stevia and add 1 tablespoon vanilla extract.
Mocha Coffee Creamer-Whisk in 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder and 1-2 teaspoons chocolate liquid stevia or chocolate liquid monk fruit sweetener.
Pumpkin Coffee Creamer- Whisk in 2 teaspoons my homemade pumpkin pie spice and 1-2 teaspoons pumpkin spice liquid stevia.
Hazelnut Coffee Creamer- Whisk in 1-2 teaspoons hazelnut liquid stevia and 1 teaspoon hazelnut extract.
English Toffee Coffee Creamer- Whisk in 1 teaspoon Toffee extract and 1-2 teaspoons English Toffee liquid stevia.
Peppermint Coffee Creamer- Whisk in 1 teaspoon peppermint extract plus 1-2 teaspoons peppermint liquid stevia.
Storing Sugar-Free Coffee Creamer
You can store each flavor you make in a small mason jar with a cover and refrigerate for up to a month. You can also freeze this keto coffee creamer for up to 6 months.
Can I make this dairy free?
I think you could probably make the sweetened condensed milk using coconut milk or coconut cream instead of heavy cream and replace the heavy cream for the coffee creamer with more unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk.
Can I change the Low Carb Sweetener?
You can use any low carb sweetener you like. I use powdered Allulose in the sweetened condensed milk because it doesn't crystalize like granulated erythritol does.
You could also try Monk Fruit & Allulose in powdered form is best. I think granulated low carb sweetener will crystalize once refrigerated and won't give you the best results in your cup of coffee.
The best option is to only use a very small amount of any low carb sweetener you want to try because you can always add more, but you can't take it away if you added too much to your morning cup of Joe.
Can I add xanthan gum?
You could add ½ -1 teaspoon xanthan gum if you wanted to thicken it more, but once you make the sweetened condensed milk it is already thickened.
You could whisk in xanthan gum while the mixture is on low heat and then remove and remaining ingredients plus flavor options.

Made this yesterday and I LOVE it!! I am a type 1 diabetic and have been looking for a way to get away from artificial coffee creamer. Do you have any recommendations on reducing some of the fat? The 1/2 cup of butter in the sweetened condensed milk is amazing but I wonder if there is a decent substitute to be more heart healthy? Thank you!

Happy you love it!

What in the world?!?!?!? Why is this called dairy-free when it calls for heavy cream?!?!?!?!
Brenda Bennett
I don't have this titled dairy free. I have an option to make it dairy free and wrote that in the blog post.

I made half a batch to try it out - I made the Vanilla version, and it is wonderful!!!!
I DID make a full batch of the Sweetened Condensed Milk, and continued simmering it until I had Caramel…because I just recently got a Ninja Creami and, you know, Caramel for the Vanilla Ice Cream! Anyways, LOVE all your recipes…followed you for years!

Is there a store bought creamer you can recommend. I truly don’t think I can make theses creamers, plus I’m not a into “flavor” creamers. I really appreciate your guidance, also is there a way to buy them from you?
Brenda Bennett
The base recipe is not flavored at all, the flavors are optional ingredients. I do not sell any products to buy. Nut pods is a good brand https://amzn.to/3T1TNFm
and Super Creamer https://amzn.to/3UJp3um

Wow! Thanks for this! I can finally break free of artificial coffee creamers, too.
