These incredibly cheesy keto airy fryer rolls are the perfect little side to go with any entree! Prepared easily and quickly air fried, you can enjoy these in under 20 minutes! Oven directions also provided below.
AIR FRYER ROLLS
Using the air fryer has been a time saver for my family. We use it almost daily for making chicken wings, burgers, shrimp, chicken nuggets, kale chips, and even cookies. I've actually even tried a frozen ribeye steak and it worked incredibly well! So it makes sense that I would want to try my hand at a quick dinner roll for the family. I just adapted from my Cheesy Keto Rolls recipe and it worked like a charm.
You can roll your dough into balls and place right onto the tray of the air fryer, but I found that because these keto rolls are so cheesy, they do end up seeping through the grate. My first idea to prevent these was using paper cupcake liners. They worked great but even greasing them some of the batter did stick. The best option is to purchase silicone cupcake liners so these rolls just pop right out without issue!
KETO NUT FREE ROLLS
I'd like to clear up this constant question get asked almost daily about whether coconut is a nut. While the US Food & drug Administration (FDA) claims that coconut is a tree nut becomes it comes from a tree, it is in fact a FRUIT. People who have tree nut allergies may be allergic to coconut as well, but being allergic to coconut is not the same as having a tree nut allergy.
My own son was diagnosed with a Peanut and Tree Nut allergy at the age of 2. He has safely eaten coconut all these years without issue and he is now 14. Coconut is a fruit, called a drupe. It's like a peach with a pit.
The American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology says it well: "Coconut is not a botanical nut: it is classified as a fruit, even though the FDA recognizes coconut as a tree nut. While allergic reactions to coconut have been documented, most people who are allergic to tree nuts can safely eat coconut. If you are allergic to tree nuts, talk to your allergist before adding coconut to your diet."
AIR FRYER OR OVEN DIRECTIONS
I've been really enjoying using my air fryer regularly. It truly just takes so much less time than using the oven. I created a couple of fantastic fryer recipes for my cookbook, Naturally Keto and now I'm slowly working on building many more free recipes for my website. I've got a delicious Air Fryer Coconut Shrimp, as well as Paleo Chicken Nuggets made in the air fryer, and even Lemon Slice & Bake Air Fryer Cookies! But if you haven't yet made the investment for an air fryer, then you can make these tasty keto rolls in your oven as well. Place them in mounds on a baking sheet pan or use a silicone muffin pan if you prefer. Preheat your own to 400 degrees and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
HOW TO STORE KETO ROLLS
These rolls are truly best eaten immediately after cooking. If you do have any left over, which is highly unlikely, but still, if you do, simply let them cool completely and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
HOW TO REHEAT KETO ROLLS
Once you remove them from the fridge, slice them in half and add some butter or ghee to each half. You can reheat in the microwave for 20-30 seconds or you could add them to a toaster oven at 350 degrees F for 5 minutes or back to the air fryer at 350 degrees F for 2 minutes.

These sound and look delicious!!! Any idea for cheese subs to make them dairy free as well? I know, I know. I'm so demanding. But I assure you it's NOT by choice. Thank you.
Susen
Could you go ahead and just use a standard muffin pan to bake in the oven? Could you just grease the muffin pan? Or paper liners ?
Brenda
I would still use liners and grease them.
Char Cole
Hi these sounds super yummy. I had a question. It says 2oz or half a cup, wouldn't 2oz be 1/4 cup?
Thanks
Brenda
No, if you use a scale and weigh 2 ounces it is a 1/2 cup. Liquid 2 ounces is 1/4 cup.

Looks amazing. Can anyone recommend a good egg replacement for Keto recipes? I am allergic to eggs and often see these delicious recipes that I know my family will love.
Sanaa
how can I do it with oven ? i don't have air fryer.
Brenda
Right above in the blog post there is a title that says Air Fry or Oven Directions.
Brenda
I made these for supper yesterday to go with cream of mushroom soup that I made.
I replaced half of the mozzarella cheese with extra mature cheddar, worked great. I made them in my food processor so the cheeses were well incorporated into the dough. Then scooped out the dough with a 1/4 cup measuring cup to form al ball and baked them on a greased cookie sheet in the oven for approx 18 minutes.
They came out perfect and were very tasty, hubby loved them.

Thank you for sharing your changes!
Judy
I have an Ninja oven type air fryer. Could I use a 12 silicone muffin pan? Thanks!
Toni
Started making and realized I only had 1 cp mozzarella cheese, so I improvised and cut up some mozzarella sticks 👍worked out great 😊
Beth
Fantastic rolls! Family loved them.
Elaine
Recipe has it makes 9 but the video and pictures all show just 8 muffins.
Brenda
The first time I made them in the air fryer I did not use silicone muffin cups and they spread quite a bit and I only made 8. But when using the muffin cups I was able to get 9 rolls and they held their shape better.
Dee
Are standard size silicone muffin cups used OR are they mini silicone muffin cups? They looked small when taking them out of the air fryer.
Brenda
No they are standard muffin size.
Gianna
Should the air fryer be warmed up before cooking?
Brenda
No we did not preheat it.
Esther
Can I substitute almond flour for the coconut flour? I have a kiddo allergic to coconut.
Brenda
No sorry, they are not equal swaps. Only 1/4 cup coconut flour would equal about 1 cup almond. And coconut needs more eggs and liquids than almond flour.
Doris
Can these be put in a regular oven for baking instead of an airfryer
Brenda
Oven directions are provided in paragraph 3 of this post.
Christine Jarvis
Thank you for making a tree nut free recipe (my daughter is super allergic) that uses coconut flour instead. Keep up designing coconut flour recipes as it is hard to find any good tasting ones.
Lauren
Can you just put silicone muffin cups on top of the rack in the air fryer or do you have to have a muffin tin that fits??
Susa Garrett
I put the 9 silicone muffin cups directly in the air fryer. It worked out great.
Katy
Do you store them in the refrigerator or counter? Can you freeze after cooking?
Brenda
I stored in fridge and yes you can freeze.
