These easy keto cottage cheese chicken patties need just 5 simple ingredients and have 34 grams of protein and just 1 gram carbs!
What are Keto Chicken Patties?
Chicken patties are a delicious alternative to chicken nuggets or chicken burgers because you use cooked leftover chicken or canned chicken, rather than raw chicken which takes longer to prep and cook.
I think the biggest difference between a chicken patty and a chicken burger is the thickness of a patty is much thinner then a chicken burger or salmon burger.
Don't get me wrong I love healthy chicken burgers but they usually need a list of ingredients and time to cook then these tasty patties.
After I created my quick Cottage Cheese Chicken Crust Pizza and it went viral and was so popular, I knew I wanted to create a simple chicken patty. I already have some delicious chicken nugget recipes but they take a little bit more time to form when using raw chicken.
These easy chicken patties are basically a great way to use up leftover chicken turning them into cheesy keto chicken fritters the whole family will love!
Chicken Patty Ingredients
This incredibly delicious recipe for simple cheesy chicken fritters uses canned chicken, or you can use cooked ground chicken, cooked chicken breast, or leftover rotisserie chicken.
You could also use chicken thighs if you prefer but they should be cooked first and also the nutritional information below is using chicken breast.
The chicken mixture is combined with a combination of cottage cheese and cheddar cheese that makes for a perfectly moist chicken patty. The crushed pork rinds give them a nice crisp outer crust.
Can I swap the cheese?
If you don't like cottage cheese, (promise you can't taste it and it adds more protein), you could swap it with ricotta cheese.
If you don't have cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese could be used instead, but I've tried it and I prefer the flavor of cheddar cheese.
You might be able to also swap the cottage cheese with cream cheese though I haven't tested that option myself.
Can I swap the pork rinds?
The crushed pork rinds acts like bread crumbs but if you don't want to use pork rinds for the coating you can swap with grated Parmesan cheese.
But please note that the nutrition info will change on the printable recipe card below. Pork rinds add more protein than using Parmesan cheese.
Can I fry these instead?
You could fry these up in a frying pan but they are soft and flipping might be difficult. Baking is much easier or using the air fryer, less work for you!
How to Serve Keto Chicken Patties
These chicken patties is one of the easiest way to accommodate everyone in the family with different dietary needs.
You can serve these with a side of my homemade ranch dressing as a dipping sauce or make it a keto sandwich using one of my Cottage Cheese Cloud Rolls. Add some lettuce, mayo, tomato and enjoy this high protein meal!
You could include a nice green salad on the side or just add one of these chicken patties to a lettuce wrap.

Made these for my whole family and they were devoured!! I followed the recipe except for substituting whole chicken breast for the canned. I used Italian flavored pork rind crumbs. The flavor and the crunch on these patties were amazing!! My kids said, and I quote "these chicken patties are way better than ones in a bag. You need to make them again mommy!!! Keep up the amazing work Brenda, your recipes are excellent!!

Wow, thank you! Love hearing that from the kids!

Outstanding! Reminds me of delicious summer fair food of fried pork tenderloins. Mouthwatering! Perhaps it was the pork rind crumbs that helped with that flavor. I used italian seasoned pork rind crumbs. I had two patties to pack in the protein on my 2-meal day today, bunless, with SF ketchup and dill pickle slices. The rest are going in the fridge/freezer for future meals. PLEASE keep making more easy, simple ingredient recipes like this that are great for freezing (saves time & dirty dishes).

Just saw this recipe on Facebook, made them immediately since I had all ingredients on hand and they are delicious! I didn't use the pork rinds and did as she suggested and used parmesan. My husband made fun of them til he tasted it, then ate 3 😁. Will definitely be making these on a regular basis.

I made these tonight. They are ok, but might be great with some recipe clarification. The recipe says canned chicken or chicken breast. Weight given is for undrained can: no clarification on drained weight so you can know how much fresh chicken to add mi used one drained can
Instructions say add all ingredients to food processor. I wish I had read fiether, because I added the panko to the food processor then read to make the patties and then coat with panko.
So mine are a bit dry and pasty, but if made correctly perhaps they'd be great. Could you update your recipe with some clarified instructions?
Eager to try your pizza crust too!

Yes I will sorry about that!
