Keto Fathead Low Carb Pizza Rolls

These are THE BEST KETO FATHEAD LOW CARB PIZZA ROLLS you will have taste! The texture is pretty amazing considering they are grain free, gluten free, nut free and low carb!

Fathead Rolls

Comfort food has always been something related to bread, don’t you think? A crusty Italian loaf smothered in butter, croutons for a salad, rolls with dinner, french toast, bread pudding and on and on and on. The staple of an American diet has been bread.

But once you decide to be on a low carb diet, standard bread is out of the question which could make anyone feel the loss of that once beloved food. No worries though, I’ve created a ton of low carb bread recipes to make you feel like you’re not missing out on anything!

Keto Cinnamon Rolls

When I shared my Keto Cinnamon Rolls, they went viral immediately! The texture is pretty outstanding and I can’t use the typical almond flour like most low carb bloggers because my youngest son has a tree nut allergy. So coconut flour and sesame flour are the choice of low carb alternatives I’ve been working with and perfecting. Today’s recipe is an adaption on a savory take to my cinnamon rolls. And they are just as good as they look. They will completely fulfill that bread craving and that pizza craving!

Honestly whether you’re on a low carb diet plan or not, these are the pizza rolls you’ll want to make again and again. Super easy, no yeast involved, no fancy ingredients, just simple and that’s how I roll. Pun intended!

Fill them with whatever you like on or in your pizza! Other additions would be olives, onions, sausage, etc. My family devoured these the first time I made them. You can also top them with more Marinara Sauce if you like a bit more sauce.

Brenda’s Notes:

  • So when I made these for the video I used coconut flour, but then I ran out of my beloved coconut flour. I only had about a 1/4 cup the second time I made these for the photos. I decided to see how sesame flour would work as a replacement. And they were just as perfect! So use either sesame flour or coconut flour as my orginial recipe calls for and you will end up with the most delicious roll you’ve ever had!

Enjoy!

  1. These are pretty easy to make, and taste great, but unfortunately using so much coconut flour resulted in a laxative effect. Neither of us have particularly sensitive stomachs, but this certainly did a number on us. I’m sure I’ll be making these again, but with an almond flour fathead dough.

    1. I’ve never heard of coconut flour causing a laxative effect. Perhaps you have a sensitive to using cheese or dairy products.

  2. Help! My dough tasted fabulous but I could not get it to roll without it breaking apart. I had to try to piece it all together and just make a very messy (but tastes) pizza. Any ideas?

  3. Could you please specify the amount of โ€œremainingโ€ sauce to spread over the rolls? Ingredients show 1/2 cup but instructions call for the entire half cup to be spread onto the dough.
    Thanks!

    1. Thanks for catching that. I meant to say spread half the sauce onto the dough then roll them up. Use the remaining sauce to top.

    1. Sorry I’ve not tried another shredded cheese besides mozzarella so can’t say whether you’d get the same texture.

    1. Yes I’ve made them ahead, though i did not bake them, just prepared them and baked the next day.

  4. Tried these and they were great! But I can taste the coconut flour which feels strange in a savory recipe. Is there any way to mask this? Did it happen to you? Thanks for sharing!

    1. Maybe try more garlic or onion powder seasoning or maybe reduce the coconut flour by 1/4 cup and try some grated parmesan, though this is not something I tried so not sure how it will work.

  5. Is the amount of coconut flour correct? This dough was seriously dry and hard to roll out. I ended up wasting dough because I gave up on rolling it. I am not sure if it was too much coconut flour or if some brands vary. But this was certainly not as easy as the video appeared to make it.

  6. Have you ever prepared with daiya, cheese alternatives. I am dairy intolerant and these do look fabulously yummy.

    1. Ooh! I would be interested in this, too. I have a problem with a lot of soft cheeses, but so many recipes call for cream cheese! Let us all know if you go ahead and try it out, please. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Is there any way that we can just get the recipe without the life story bs at the beginning? So tired of that! Lol.

    1. Nope. It’s my blog and I get write about my life. You can find plenty of websites that are just recipes, this is not one of them.

    2. I just scroll down ๐Ÿ™‚ Sometimes I read about your life, sometimes not. Thank you for the recipe. I tried it last night and it came out about like the homemade pizza I used to make before low carb, which is to say “OK” (which is a lot better than many other low carb pizza recipes!). The texture came out soft enough that I think I would like the dough in cinnamon rolls, and I’ll give that a try.

    3. Wow, people are SO rude! They think bc they put “lol” at the end of a sentence it’s “ok”. Humanity at its finest.

    4. Seriously?? @amy do you know that you are writing to another human being who is kind enough to share her personal content on her personally-owned space? She could easily choose not to, and weโ€™d have to figure this out on our own. Saying thanks goes a long way, as does empathy and compassion. Or just not saying anything when we canโ€™t be kind, as we were taught when we were children.

    1. Sure you can easily replace the cream cheese with the same amount of mascarpone and that will be delicious!

  8. Amazing! So glad I found this! I have hay fever and OAS can’t have some almonds if uncooked so was nervous about the flour of almonds. Thank you so much!

    1. So if you saw the video I rolled the entire dough, adding the sauce, cheese and pepperoni, then sliced them into 12 pieces. The net carbs are for 1 piece or 1 roll after being sliced.

  9. Yum! Iโ€™m a low carb celiac, my husband is allergic to almonds, sunflower seeds and peanuts. Iโ€™m always excited to find baked goods recipes that are GF and almond free. This is amazing!

    1. Yes absolutely. When I made my Keto Fathead Rolls I had started with 1 tsp and one day making them again for dinner for my family I accidentally dropped in 1 tbsp of baking powder. Best thing to ever have happened because those rolls were the fluffiest dinner rolls ever. So I used that much in my Keto Cinnamon Rolls and for this recipe.

    2. Ok, I made it last night with 1 tbs. Sooooooo good!
With this recipe I can eat something that taste like pizza!
I cannot use almond. When I was making pizza with almond flour for my family, I was always eating something else. Last night we all ate the same meal…so happy!
Thanks you for this delicious recipe.

  10. Oh my goodness I am so trying these this weekend! I’m trying to go grain free, so the possibility of pizza is magical! The baking powder’s a small issue because of the corn starch – but I’ll bake them following your recipe and then experiment with baking soda later :o)

    And cinnamon rolls you say…

    1. We devoured them so I’ve not frozen them but I think I would not bake them if I were going to freeze them. Once frozen then thaw overnight and then bake.

    1. I honestly don’t think almond flour would be a good swap for the coconut flour. You’d have to change out the rest of the wet ingredients because they just aren’t equal. Might be better to find a fathead dough specifically made with almond flour.

    2. Almond flour does not work well. I tried it and could not get it to roll up. Ended up just making a stuffed pizza! LOL

    1. What does x gum do? I live in a little town and we donโ€™t have it. Will it still work?
