What is Halloumi?
Halloumi cheese is a fantastic alternative for those who have sensitivities to cow's milk. Halloumi cheese is traditionally made form sheep's milk but can also be made from goats milk. It's a mild, semi-hard cheese that has a high melting point. You can actually fry or grill it so it gets crispy on the outside and is semi soft on the inside. My daughter has some lactose issues with cows milk but has no problem enjoying halloumi cheese as well as Manchego cheese which is also made from sheep's milk.
Mediterranean Zucchini Balls
Fresh herbs and lemon zest add that tasty Mediterranean flavor to these easy zucchini balls. They can even be prepped in advance and saved in the fridge until you’re ready to cook them off at the last minute. Wonderful for an appetizer or side with a tasty dip. Enjoy with my homemade ketchup or Ranch!

Do not waste your time on this recipe. The batter does not hold together. Very frustrating to make and lacks flavour.
Brenda
I'm sorry to hear this, did you substitute any ingredients?
Jaqi Mudge
I followed this recipe to the letter. They were disgusting!
Very disappointed. Will definitely not be making these again.

I also flattened the "balls" into small patties for faster cooking. Served with homemade Ranch. They were wonderful!
Carole
The batter was way too wet to make balls so I added a bit of almond flour.
Celeste Gibson
These sound great! I recently got an air fryer, would I be able to use that instead of frying? Thank you!
Brenda
Absolutely!
Shanika Hoggard
Can halloumi cheese be substituted?
Brenda
Sure maybe try a combination of mozzarella and grated parmesan or cheddar.
