These Easy No Bake Keto Kentucky Bourbon Balls are perfect for your Holiday dessert tray! Plus a giveaway of Southern Keto Cookbook by Natasha Newton!
Easy Bourbon Ball Recipe
This easy recipe for bourbon balls has only 7 ingredients and no baking is required! If you've been low carb baking for the holidays you most likely have the all ingredients on hand to make these. Once you make them, feel free to freeze for Christmas! They're gluten free, grain free, sugar free, keto and low carb. Doesn't get much better than these for a delicious holiday treat!
I can take no credit for this lovely recipe. It comes straight from my friend Natasha Newton and her new just published cookbook, Southern Keto: 100+ traditional food favorites for a low carb lifestyle!
She's even included some special occasion menus like, having a Football Tailgate, a Fish Fry, French Quarter Feast or just a Southern Supper. Next on my list is to try the Hushpuppies and Dill Pickle Chips! This would make the perfect Christmas gift for someone just starting on keto!
How To Make Keto Bourbon Balls
You just need an electric mixer or stand mixer and some basic ingredients. It's a simple mix, chill, scoop and dip in chocolate then chill till their set. Couldn't be any easier really. Swerve Confectioners is needed for this recipe as granulated sweeteners won't provide that smooth and creamy texture you want in this. The only crunch I want is from the chopped pecans, not a sweetener.
Whether you're Southern or not, anyone who loves to cook and bake and loves the low carb/keto lifestyle will be able to enjoy not only this recipe but many more from this cookbook. My Friend Natasha is offering to giveaway a copy of her new cookbook to one SugarFreeMom Reader!

Keto Kentucky Bourbon Balls
Keto Kentucky Bourbon Balls
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter salted, softened
- 1 cup Swerve confectioners
- 3 tablespoon bourbon
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup pecans raw, chopped
- ½ cup sugar free chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- 12 pecans
Instructions
- Using a hand mixer on medium speed, beat the butter and Swerve until pale yellow and fluffy. Add the bourbon, vanilla extract, and pecans and stir until well combined. Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, until chilled and easier to shape.
- Place the chocolate chips and oil in a small microwavable safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring after each increment, until melted and smooth.
- Have on hand 12 foil candy cups or line a tray with parchment paper. Take the pecan mixture out of the refrigerator and roll 1- tablespoon scoops (Brenda used a 1 tablespoon cookie scoop that was greased to make this easier). Roll into 1 inch balls. Using a fork, dip each ball into melted chocolate to coat and tap off excess chocolate, then place in the candy cups or on the lined tray. Top each ball with a pecan half.
- Place back in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving. Allow balls to sit out for 10 minutes to soften before eating. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- For best results use a high quality bourbon with a smooth flavor. In general, you should use a bourbon that you enjoy sipping. Because these confections are not cooked, the are very slightly boozy and should only be served to adults.
- The recipe from the cookbook has a serving amount of 12, but I was able to make 15 and therefore my nutrition is different from the cookbook.
- I found it difficult to use a tablespoon to scoop batter as well as to roll these so I swapped it with a greased cookie scoop that measured 1 tablespoon and I skipped rolling.
- I melted ¾ cup sugar free chocolate chips but had ¼ cup left over so I only counted the ½ cup I needed to coat the balls and the nutrition info is reflective of that.

Most of the substitutes I see for some of my favorites include foods I don't like such as cauliflower. More options for potato or pasta replacements would be nice.

I would KILL to have a recipe for Keto nuts and bolts. Christmas at our house has always included these crunchy treats.
Some people may know them as bits and bites or another name....but they are essentially the same. Any luck of me getting a recipe this year in time for Christmas???? 🙂

OOO, I can't wait to make these!! I would love to find a way to make a keto poppy seed filling. I've always made kolacky's at the holidays, this year being no exception, even though I will no longer be eating them having been keto since May of this year. I also found a recipe for a coffee cake using a fat head dough and would LOVE to have a poppy seed coffee cake!!! Thanks for all you do!!
