Best cauliflower mash!
Thank you!
Can you freeze this?
I haven’t tried it myself, think it would be fine, and thaw the night before you want it.
This made a wonderful bed for beef tips! Everything about the recipe worked perfectly. Although yesterday was our first time ever to make mashed cauliflower, it will not be the last. Thank you!
Looks great. What is considered 1 portion – a cup?
yes
So happy to find this recipe! I want to use frozen cauliflower florets. Any idea how long they would need to cook in the crockpot? And would it need less liquid?
Me again….. I found a recipe using frozen cauli and I won’t need any liquid at all, so I’ll still use your recipe, just leave the broth out, and as for the time, I’ll just play it by ear then keep warm on low. Too many cooks in a too small kitchen requires a bit of flexibility this year. ๐ Have a great Thanksgiving!
what can I use instead of sour cream
You might be able to swap coconut cream or try to find a vegan sour cream or vegan cream cheese.
This was fantastic! Made it tonight to serve with halibut. My husband raved. Iโll reduce the broth a tiny bit as Iโd like a thicker consistency.
I love this recipe! This is about the 5th time I’ve made it since Thanksgiving. Tonight I am serving it with Skinnytaste’s Salisbury Steak recipe. So glad I found your site!
Still tastes like mashed cauliflower but good! I donโt consider it a substitute for mashed potatoes. I call it what it is, mashed cauliflower and everyone gobbled it up!
Nutritional information says serving size of 1g, is this correct?
Nope it was a glitch with the recipe plug in. Total servings are right under the title of the recipe.
What can you replace the butter with?
You could just leave it out, it will still be a good mashed cauliflower.
Olive oil would probably work instead of butter.
I’ve made this recipe often and everyone loves it (even the potato lovers) .
Can this be made ahead of time, and reheated?
Yes
The pictures above looks like nice creamy mashed potatoes but by cooking in 8 oz broth, how is this not soup?
It essentially steams it and most of the liquid reduces to half, but you do need it in the crock pot.
