A simple keto pancake recipe made quickly in your blender and baked in a cast iron skillet until puffed and golden brown with crispy edges. Much easier to make than regular pancakes and just 3 net carbs per serving! This keto dutch baby recipe comes from my new book, The 30-Day Sugar Elimination Diet.
Keto Dutch Babies
A traditional Dutch baby is a baked pancake and uses regular white refined flour and sugar so having it on your keto diet will kick you out of ketosis. Our low carb recipe has 16 grams of protein and just 5 total carbs and will not spike your blood sugar.
When you’re sick of eggs for breakfast, this is a wonderful alternative, and it's quick with just 15 minutes of baking time.
The texture is a cross between a custard and a pancake and is quite delicious.
The texture is a cross between a custard and fluffy pancakes that have a puffy texture and is quite delicious. Feel free to change out the apple pie extract and spice for either almond, banana, or vanilla extract and ground cinnamon.

If desired, top with a dusting of confectioners’-style sweetener, a drizzle of sugar-free syrup, and/or a handful of chopped apple or any fresh fruit. Best served fresh.
FAQs
Can I make this Nut Free?
To make this recipe nut-free, simply replace the almond flour with any of these other keto flours; sunflower seed flour or coconut flour, just use only 1 tablespoon since it absorbs so much liquid.
Can I make this Keto Dutch Baby Pancake recipe Dairy Free?
Yes, swap the butter for coconut oil and the heavy cream for a non-dairy milk or canned coconut milk would also work.
You will also need to add some baking powder to allow the pancake to do the magic of the dutch puff it is known for.
Can I blend this in my food processor instead of blender?
If you don't have a high-powered blender, you can blend the wet ingredients first in your food processor then add the dry ingredients to combine.
Can I use a non-stick skillet instead of cast iron?
Yes, if you don't have a cast-iron skillet, you can use another small 6-inch skillet.

It makes me so happy to see this! I spent a lot of time as a child, with my great-grandmother. She would make these for my cousin and I as a treat. She had double ovens and we would stand and stare at them as they would grow like a crown. Looking forward to making this.
