Keto Apple Cider Donuts

It’s apple season time of year and I’ve had apple bread on my mind for a while now!

When my kids were younger we always made time to visit an apple orchard for fresh apple picking, but now my youngest is 18 and they are all so busy we just don’t get time for our local orchard much anymore.

Luckily, this keto apple cider donut bread doesn’t require any actual apples, but it’s full of apple flavor!

No apple juice or apple cider or even almond flour in this healthy apple cider bread for the fall season!

You will also be happy to know that no egg white protein powder or whey protein powder is used in this bread recipe.

Another amazing reason you will love this bread is that, you won’t need to whip the egg whites to stiff peaks like my cottage cheese cloud bread recipes!

No special ingredients to buy either like xanthan gum, flax meal or psyllium husk! This is  a good choice for even the novice keto baker!

Carbs in Apple Cider Donut Bread

Traditional apple cider donuts and apple cider donut bread uses all purpose flour, or wheat flour  and regular white sugar.

According to the app Cronometer, one apple cider donut from Trader Joe’s, has 41 grams of carbs, 320 calories, and 21 grams of sugar.

That is too high to be enjoyed when following a keto diet or low carb diet as it will surely spike blood sugar and cause cravings.

Carbs in our Keto Low Carb Apple Cider Donut Bread

This bread has 8 servings with one serving having 5 total carbs and just 112 calories. With 5 grams of dietary fiber, if you count net carbs, that’s zero!

All the rest of the nutritional information and detailed instructions are in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Low Carb Sweetener Options

The reason I use a combination of Monk Fruit Sweetener with Allulose and liquid stevia is because it helps alleviate any aftertaste from any of them. It truly helps and I highly recommend it.

But if you only have one kind, definitely purchase the Monk Fruit Allulose brown sugar substitute for this apple cider recipe as it will enhance the flavors and make it taste like the real deal.

Cinnamon liquid stevia can be swapped with vanilla liquid stevia or plain liquid monk fruit sweetener.

Can I add real apple pieces?

Yes if you want to add real apple to this bread, that can work. Just dice up a small amount of apple pieces and add to the bread batter in the mixer. I’d recommend at least a half a cup of diced apple.

Just made this recipe and itโ€™s great! Fantastic apple flavor without the carbs of the actual apple! Love how easy it was to follow and quick it was to prep and bake. Perfect for fall. I didnโ€™t make the drizzle but felt that it was perfect with just the cake and streusel. Would add the icing for guests if serving to them.
